CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility

AsiaCongress has identified three main areas for Social Responsibility:
1) Reducing the eco-foot print of your event,
2) Contributing to the Thai Economy, and
3) Helping Bangkok's slum children.

As event organizers, our work impacts our world and those around us in myriad ways. Given the scale of our operations we are committed to ensuring that our events will essentially influence our community and our world in a positive way.

AsiaCongress is committed to organizing Green Events and will help you choose a number of ways in which your event can minimize its impact on the environment through: waste minimization, energy efficiency, water conservation.

On the up side, bringing 2,500 delegates to Bangkok for a 5-day conference gives a tremendous boost to the local economy. From taxi drivers to bellmen, to waiters and tour guides, Congresses create employment for a large segment of the workforce. On top of this business travelers spend an average of 1.5 times more than tourists.

Finally, AsiaCongress is committed to Education. Managing Director, Marcel Ewals is a regular speaker at Universities in Thailand (Chiangmai University and Ragnsit University) and in the region (Sri Lanka and Malaysia) where he lectures University students on topics such as: Understanding Exhibitions / The dynamics of Exhibitions; The Exhibitions and Conventions Industry. AsiaCongress has successfully trained five interns, many of whom have become key players in Thailand’s MICE industry and some even work for friendly competition (TCEB, BITEC, PICO).

Last but not least we are committed to helping the slum children of Bangkok gain access to education through the Mercy Centre project.

Mercy Centre is a shelter for street kids, four orphanages, a hospice, a home for mothers and children with HIV/AIDS, a 400-pupil kindergarten, a community meeting place, and a serene haven in the slums with small gardens and playgrounds.
